LONG BEACH, Calif., Jan. 26, 2007 -- Underscoring its dedication to the craft and scrapbooking community, Epson is offering hands-on demonstrations to show attendees at the Craft and Hobby Association (CHA) Winter Convention and Trade Show in Anaheim, Calif. on Jan. 28-31. Epson Booth visitors will have the opportunity to create and print all of the following: 1) a personal 5"x7" page of their favorite photos using StoryTeller® Photo Book Creator by Epson, 2) a Valentine's Day 12"x12" digital scrapbook page using the Epson Stylus® Photo R1800 printer and 3) either a heartfelt Valentine-themed 4"x6" photo matte or greeting cards with their own wallet-size photos using the PictureMate Snap™ Personal Photo Lab by Epson. Crafters of all skill levels are encouraged to bring their digital memory cards to Epson's booth (#3047) during show hours to personalize their projects with Epson craft experts on a first-come, first-served basis.

Personalized 5"x7" StoryTeller Photo Book Pages

Attendees can create a customized 5"x7" StoryTeller page with personal photos and fun captions choosing from 60 professionally-designed page layouts included with StoryTeller Publisher software. StoryTeller pages will be printed with the new 13-inch wide Epson Stylus Photo 1400, featuring new Claria™ Hi-Definition ink to provide stunning images that are scratch, water and smudge-resistant, and will also resist fading for up to 200 years in a scrapbook album.(1) Designed for photo enthusiasts, general crafters and scrapbookers looking for the ideal combination of image quality, ease-of-use and value, the Epson Stylus Photo 1400 offers PictBridge™ connectivity, automatic photo correction, direct CD/DVD printing, and fast, beautiful BorderFree® photos on a wide range of media up to 13"x19."

Show attendees that create a customized StoryTeller page will receive a free 5"x7" StoryTeller kit (valued at $19.99 MSRP) as well as additional creative embellishment ideas that can be incorporated into full-length keepsake books created at home. The StoryTeller kit includes everything needed to turn digital photos into a beautiful, hardbound glossy photo book using any letter-size printer. Starting at $20, StoryTeller comes in 5"x7" or 8"x10" versions and includes a hardbound book, a glossy book cover and glossy pages that can be easily assembled into the book, as well as software that allows craft enthusiasts to enhance and quickly place dozens of photos on either 10 or 20 pages per book.

True BorderFree 12"x12" Digital Valentine's Day Scrapbook Layouts

The Epson booth will feature a special digital cropping station that will allow booth visitors to make one of two 12"x12" borderless scrapbook page options. One will provide attendees with the opportunity to design a special 12"x12" borderless Valentine's Day scrapbook page layout personalized with their own photos using Adobe PhotoShop Elements. Other 12"x12" pages can be created using templates from the EpsonCreativeZone.com Web site (http://www.epsoncreativezone.com/). The second digital cropping station will provide the technology to scan and stitch visitors' original, traditional pages using a letter-size scanner to create a duplicate, digital 12"x12" page. With the help of ArcSoft Scan-n-Stitch software, all completed pages will be printed with the Epson Stylus Photo R1800, featuring true 12"x12" BorderFree printing, a wide array of photo printing features, extremely fast printing speeds, and top-quality images that will last up to 200 years in dark storage albums.(1)

Valentine-Themed PictureMate Projects

Crafters visiting Epson's booth will also have the opportunity to print their own PC-free 4"x6" and wallet-size pictures in order to make either Valentine-themed photo frames or Valentine's Day cards, using the PictureMate Snap Personal Photo Lab. Chatterbox, Inc. will also provide creative embellishments that can be added to the projects. PictureMate Snap is a top choice among consumers for small format printing, offering an auto photo-enhancement feature that corrects colors for dark backlit and washed-out photos, adjusts skin tones, improving the richness of scenery, and sharpens photos. The portable printer -- a favorite for croppers on the move -- also includes a premium quality 2.5" premium photo viewer, one-touch printing, red eye removal, and WiFi connectivity.

Guest Appearances by Expert Crafting Authors

Epson will host several craft and scrapbook authors throughout the show, including Tanya Fox, author of "Easy Paper Crafting and Photos;" Laura Lovett, author of "Photocraft: Cool Things to do with the Pictures You Love;" Linda Sattgast, digital expert and creator of "The Scrappers' Guide to Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0;" and Janine Warner, author of "Digital Family Album." The authors will be on-hand at Epson's booth to provide craft and scrapbook retailers, as well as consumers, with their products which all provide ideas and techniques for creating crafting projects using photos and computers. In addition, these authors will be offering a limited number of copies of their respective books or DVDs; show attendees can sign up to win a free copy. A detailed schedule of author appearances, including specific dates and times, will be on display in the Epson booth.
